Do all the “cogs” in your small business turning smoothly or are some a bit rusty?

So I don’t mean COGS as in cost of goods sold but the areas of your business that are interconnected and need to run independently and in unison with others and are well-oiled so that they all turn together and do not get stuck and cause bottlenecks.

As a small business consultant, I  take a look at these “cogs” and support business owners and their teams by providing an objective and outside view of how their business is being run.

I was an operations manager for bespoke furniture manufacturers for 17 years and I saw firsthand how all the areas of the business ( cogs ) needed to be oiled to turn in unison. I was involved in areas such as sales, marketing, HR, health & safety, CRMs,  procurement, finance, accreditation and legals, customer service, project management, day-to-day operations, and training and development. This means that I can see how all these “cogs” work alone and how they are all interconnected to ensure the smooth running of a business.

Sometimes these “cogs” get rusty or stuck and taking a close view means that changes and tweaks can be made to ensure that they are turning smoothly again.

Sometimes business owners can clearly see what needs reviewing and I work with them project by project to solve issues and move on again. Sometimes they cannot see what is working and I support them by reviewing all the areas in their business via an Audit.

I bring valuable knowledge and experience that a small business owner may not have and this may include industry-specific knowledge & strategy. Providing an objective viewpoint can reveal a fresh perspective to the owner and identify strengths that need to be harnessed and weaknesses that need addressing and improving.

Whilst reviewing the business operations the business owner can rest assured that aspects of the business are being handled with strategy, solutions, knowledge & experience. Support from the consultant who understands the way they work, their vision, mission & values helps to move projects forward, help them reach their goals, and ultimately fall back in love with their business to scale and grow.

Here is a list of projects that I have undertaken for clients over the past 5 years I have been in business. If any of these need reviewing in your business then please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss how I might be able to support you and your business.
